How to Choose a TikTok Agency — 7 Questions to Ask Before Signing
Published
There are hundreds of TikTok agencies; results differ by 10x. These are the questions we recommend asking every agency — including us.
1. “Where does the creative come from?”
If the answer is “the brand sends us clips,” you’re paying someone to press the boost button. Creative is the single biggest performance factor on TikTok — a real agency has its own production or development system.
2. “How many variants do you test per month?”
A good answer is a concrete number (8–20 variants), not “it depends.” No testing system means guessing.
3. “Can we see a sample report?”
A good report tells you what was learned this month and what changes next month — not a table copied from the ads dashboard.
4. “Whose name is on the ad account?”
Always the brand’s. If an agency insists on their account, all the learning data disappears when the contract ends.
5. “Have you worked in our category? What happened?”
Ask for real cases with numbers. They don’t need famous logos — they need to explain the challenge, the approach, and how results were measured.
6. “Who actually manages our account?”
Some agencies sell with senior staff and deliver with interns. Ask who reads your campaign data daily, and how many brands they handle at once.
7. “What happens when results are bad?”
A confident agency has a system: review cadence, kill criteria, re-planning terms — not vague promises.
